Research on Safety Evaluation Technology of Road Void and Cavity Based on Ground Penetrating Radar

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a geological structure detection technology widely used in detecting and identifying sub-road disease due to its advantages in non-destructive,fast and high accuracy. Based on the application of detection of urban road void and cavity disease in a certain District of Beijing, this paper studies the data acquisition method and process, data processing method of road network level road void and cavity, including key technical parameters, equipment selection, parameter calibration, survey line arrangement method, coordinate positioning, suspected disease review, on-site signal anomaly identification and verification, three-dimensional ground penetrating radar data processing method, two-dimensional ground penetrating radar data processing method and data interpretation process. Based on above study, a risk assessment method of void and cavity is proposed. Applying the said method, assessment the risk of 17 roads in Beijing is carried out, and the suggestion of disease disposal scheme is given.
