Design of Speed Limit Scheme in Sub-Section of Freeway Tunnel

In order to improve the driving safety of the freeway tunnel section, the research on the zoning section speed limit was carried out. Based on the visual characteristics of drivers and the traffic characteristics of tunnel, this paper divides the tunnel into different speed limit sections, gives the design method of speed limit of different sections, determines the speed limit value of each section, and carries out a case study, and verifies the effectiveness of the speed limit scheme of sub-section by simulation analysis. The results show that the zoning speed limit scheme can effectively reduce the congestion degree and improve the traffic efficiency of the tunnel.
