Molecular Mechanism Underlying Repression of Insect Metamorphosis by Juvenile Hormone
摘要
This chapter, centered on the authors’ research using the silkworm Bombyx mori, elucidates recent advancements in our understanding of the fundamental mechanisms controlling insect metamorphosis through the regulation of key genes by juvenile hormone (JH), such as Krüppel homolog 1 (Kr-h1), Broad-Complex (BR-C), Ecdysone-induced protein 93F (E93), and chronologically inappropriate morphogenesis (Chinmo). The chapter delves into the JH-mediated transcriptional control of these metamorphic genes. Synthesizing our latest findings, this chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the molecular intricacies that govern insect metamorphosis.
