摘要

The increasing generation of organic waste from agricultural and urban sources has prompted the need for sustainable waste management solutions. Composting and liquid fertilizer production offer viable methods for converting organic waste into nutrient-rich soil amendments, reducing environmental pollution while enhancing soil fertility. Unlike synthetic fertilizers, which can degrade soil health over time, compost and liquid fertilizers promote biological activity, improve nutrient retention, and support long-term soil sustainability. This chapter explores the key principles behind the transformation of organic waste into valuable agricultural inputs, focusing on microbial interactions, decomposition processes, and nutrient stabilization. By understanding the factors influencing compost and liquid fertilizer production, researchers and practitioners can optimize these processes to maximize their benefits for both agricultural productivity and environmental conservation.
