Teaching translation is a thorny task that perfectly illustrates the challenges of balancing between two distinct theoretical and practical perspectives. Translation in Algeria, being at the broker of satisfying market needs and quality academic training, includes implementing a series of systems insuring equilibrium of translation knowledge and application. Translation teaching, however, can be governed by various factors that would not be keenly related to translation, but to the educational system comprehensively. This chapter shall explore the realm of translation teaching at large and in Algeria in particular. It shall centre around the pedagogical challenges facing the translation learning process, along with the feasibility and applicability of the didactics methods applied when teaching translation. The chapter shall also address the evolution of translation concept, and its teaching accordingly, amid current trends characterised by technological development dominance and amid its own evolution departing the classical roles of translation. This study shall adopt a descriptive-analytical method exploring the approaches of translation teaching in Algeria at macro and micro levels attempting to provide a reference study for further pertinent research.
