Transition to Future Network Protocols
摘要
This chapter examines the evolution of Internet transition technologies and outlines design principles for future advancements. The chapter synthesizes historical transitions, including the completed shift from NCP to TCP/IP and the ongoing migration from IPv4 to IPv6, while proposing insights for the next phase of network protocol development. Drawing on the authors’ decade-long research, it emphasizes the importance of seamless interoperability, scalability, and adaptability in transitioning to future networks. The structure addresses general design principles, technical tools, and a forward-looking analysis of challenges and opportunities beyond IPv6.
