In today’s interconnected world, cyberspace is no longer solely a technological instrument for communication—it has evolved into a cognitive ecosystem, where battles are fought not with weapons, but with ideas, information, and perception. This shift marks the rise of cognitive warfare, a new form of conflict centered on shaping and manipulating public opinion control and collective understanding. Contrary to traditional information warfare, which focuses on content delivery and disruption, cognitive warfare targets how people think and what they believe to be true. Through tools like social media, algorithms, artificial intelligence, and personalized content, powerful players can influence public perception, distort reality, and steer behavior on a massive scale. This chapter explores cognitive warfare through a multidisciplinary lens, blending theory and empirical analysis. It examines the institutional, political, economic, social, and ethical dimensions that fuel these conflicts. The study is divided into three parts: distinguishing cognitive from information warfare; analyzing how cyberspace shapes perception; and, finally, proposing a new vision by comparing cognitive and natural ecosystems, highlighting the necessity for sustainable strategies to protect mental autonomy and truth in a digitized age. Ultimately, it underscores that the real battlefield today is the human mind—and whoever shapes thoughts, shall hold power.

摘要
