The Effect and Simulation Analysis of Temperature and Humidity on the Main Insulation Electric Field in Dry-type Transformer

The author of this paper established two-dimensional (2D) models of a 10 kV epoxy resin cast dry-type transformer. Based on finite element software, electric field models of the main insulation between the high-voltage and low-voltage windings of the transformer were developed to calculated the power-frequency electric field strength under various conditions of temperature aging and humidity conditions. Using the simulation calculation results, the variation law of the main insulation electric field of dry-type transformer under the influence of temperature and humidity was analyzed, the effecting factors of temperature aging and moisture on the insulation characteristics of dry-type transformer was summarized, providing a reference basis for subsequent related research and demonstration.
