Research on the Influence of Rail Deposition Layer on the Contact Characteristics of Armature/Rail Interface in Rail Gun
摘要
Rail gun mainly rely on the mechanical kinetic energy of ultra high speed projectiles to strike objects. However, the current service life of the rail gun barrel is far from meeting practical needs. During high frequency repeated launches, the deposition layer on the rail has a significant impact on the electromagnetic and mechanical properties of the armature/rail(A/R) interface. And the deposition layer also may in turn affect the phenomenon of armature transition and the shooting accuracy of the muzzle projectile. This paper establishes a mechanics calculation model considering the plastic deformation of the armature, and studies the influence of the deposition layer on the contact pressure distribution and the separation state of the armature rail interface. When the deposition layer is thin, there is basically no separation between the rail and the armature. The research results of this article can provide certain guidance for designing the geometric structure and material selection of armatures when considering deposition layer.
