Media affects suicidal behavior by depicting it especially among the vulnerable populations. The quality of suicidal behavior in Bangladesh has been assessed in printed newspapers, online news portals, and movies and dramas. It has been found to be of poor quality across the media outlets when compared to the World Health Organization (WHO) reporting guideline for suicidal behavior. Media professionals hardly follow the recommended guidelines while reporting suicidal behavior. This chapter discusses the quality of media reporting for suicidal behavior in Bangladesh, WHO-recommended suicide reporting guidelines for media professionals, and the challenges of responsible media reporting for suicidal behavior. Subsequently, some noteworthy recommendations are proposed that will support the development of the national suicide prevention strategy for the country.
