The Characteristics and Resource Assessment of Geothermal Sandstone Reservoirs in North of Shaanxi Area

The geothermal energy is kind of clean and non-carbon radical energy. The development of geothermal resources in north of Shaanxi area, not only can optimize rate of energy consume, but also is contribute to achieve carbon peak and neutrality targets. The scientific assessment about Geothermal resources is the base of reasonable development of geothermal resources. We analyzed the geology structure, formations, characteristics of hydrology geology and characteristics of geothermal reservoir. This paper calculate the geothermal resources in assessment area by cell volume method. The estimated resource of geothermal fluid is 4.36 × 1012 m3; the recoverable resource of geothermal fluid is 2.18 × 1011 m3; the totally geothermal resources is 73.89 × 1017 kJ; and the totally recoverable resources is 5.91 × 1017 kJ. The quantity of standard coal which is conversed by recoverable resource is 2.01 × 1010 t. It has certain potential capacity about development of geothermal resource in assessment of area.
