Construction and Operation Analysis of Salt Cave Gas Storage

Jintan Salt Cave Gas Storage has been in operation since 2009, with a total of 40 wells (including 4 monitoring wells) deployed and implemented. The total volume of the 14 wells in the first stage is 2.9267 million cubic meters, and the overall shape of the cavity is regular, but there are problems such as partial dissolution and cavity bottom lifting. The direct influencing factor of construction progress is the brine circulation flow rate, and the indirect influencing factor is the injected brine concentration; The biggest factor restricting the construction speed of the dissolution chamber is the high proportion of gas injection and brine discharge, which affects the export of brine. The average duration of injection production completion operation is 44.56 days, and the average duration of two sealing testing processes accounts for 41.26%; Actual operation timeout of 9.5%, actual sealing test timeout of 6.6%. The injection and production cycle of salt cavern gas storage is flexible, and the actual frequency of use is much higher than the feasibility design. In the subsequent plan, the stability and safety of the salt cavern should be analyzed and evaluated based on the actual injection and production frequency. The actual depth of the cavity top in some single wells is less than the reference depth in the feasibility study plan, and the theoretical maximum operating pressure should be lower than the required 16 MPa in the feasibility study. The actual cavity top depth of most single wells is greater than the feasibility reference depth, and the actual operating pressure has a theoretical basis of over 16 MPa (15 MPa at the wellhead).
