Borehole Structural Interpretation of Image Logging Data

Various geological imaging patterns are compiled and analyzed in this study. Fractures can help identify fault zones based on their morphological characteristics. The relationship between fracture distribution and fold in T oilfield is studied by integrating the shallow and deep resistivity logs. The relationship between fracture and faulted anticline in H gas reservoir is studied by integrating logs and seismic data. The near-wellbore structure is interpreted based on log-derived formation dip patterns. It is clarified that influenced by the diversity and complexity of the structural styles in the basin, the dip patterns of the borehole image are complex, which makes the structural interpretation have multi-solutions. Spatial variations in structural dip patterns are presented at multiple cross-sectional positions. Case studies illustrate how green-red-green dip pattern combinations correlate with diverse structure styles and their interpretations. The study suggests that structural interpretation of image logging data should be based on geological feature analysis, utilizing dip patterns and integrating seismic data to construct reliable well-crossing structural profiles.
