摘要

Various factors affect the happiness level of individuals, including students. Determining happiness levels is important for academic institutions to improve academic performance by having happy students. There are interventions to ensure that a student’s happiness levels are monitored, regardless of the different situations they find themselves in. Happiness is defined as having positive feelings and a sense of fulfilment in life. It is important that students are aware of what makes them happier and what gives them satisfaction. The happiness levels of students are said to have a big impact on academic success rates. The main aim of this study was to develop digital applications, namely a mobile app and a website that could be used to determine and record the happiness levels of individuals, including students. The Design Science Research (DSR) methodology was used to develop a happiness app and a website where students could determine their level of happiness and monitor it on a continuous basis. The app and website were evaluated as part of the DSR methodology. The happiness app and website served as effective tools to track the happiness levels of students. It is an application that students can access everywhere and at any time to track their happiness and identify what is hindering them from being happy.
