As education evolves alongside rapid digital transformation, higher education institutions must adapt their teaching strategies to prepare students for success in an increasingly knowledge-driven and technology-dependent workforce. This study investigates the long-term impact of leadership training, integrated with digital-age pedagogy, on postgraduate students’ employability and professional development. Using a quantitative research design, the study captures alumni perspectives on how the training influenced their readiness for the workplace. It examines the role of digital tools—such as online platforms, virtual collaboration and scenario-based learning—in developing essential competencies like problem-solving, communication, adaptability and collaboration. The findings highlight the value of leadership education in fostering both technical and transferable skills aligned with modern labour market demands. Alumni reported that exposure to digital learning environments enhanced their confidence, digital literacy and ability to lead across diverse and hybrid teams. The module also promoted self-directed learning and adaptability, equipping graduates to apply leadership concepts in dynamic, real-world contexts. Importantly, the study underscores the need for inclusive and equitable teaching practices that provide all learners with access to leadership development opportunities. This study emphasises the value of student-centred, digitally integrated teaching for the future of education. By aligning leadership training with digital pedagogy, institutions can bridge the gap between education and employability, ensuring graduates are equipped to lead and thrive in the evolving global workforce.
