FPGA-Based Satellite Internet of Things (IoT) Link Coding/Decoding Design

摘要

In response to the diverse data distribution requirements of satellite IoT, this paper designs an inter-satellite forwarding process based on the hierarchical architecture of packetized telecommand and the AOS telemetry framework. Utilizing an FPGA-based hardware platform, the system accomplishes CCSDS packetized telecommand decoding, AOS telemetry encoding, and inter-satellite data encoding/decoding in the continuous uplink mode. By integrating the characteristics of satellite telemetry and telecommand, the necessity and timing features of continuous packetized telecommand decoding are analyzed. The working principles, implementation block diagrams, and hierarchical protocol design of the encoding/decoding modules are presented. Additionally, the design is analyzed in terms of timing sequences, scheduling strategies, storage capacity, and inter-satellite data acceleration strategies. This design offers advantages such as efficient processing of continuous uplink and downlink information, convenient inter-satellite forwarding, conservation of storage resources, and flexibility and versatility. It can effectively support inter-satellite data distribution in satellite internet systems, and promote the development of smart cities, intelligent transportation, smart logistics, and smart agriculture.
