Neuro-adaptive Control Design

The neuro-adaptive controller is a model-following adaptive control design framework that falls under the category of indirect adaptive control. The approach involves designing an additional control input online, which, when combined with a nominal controller, ensures overall system stability while enhancing the performance of the plant. A key advantage of the neuro-adaptive technique lies in its universality; i.e., this method can be seamlessly integrated not only with dynamic inversion but also with any of the control design strategies discussed in the preceding Chap. 3 . The neuro-adaptive controller serves as a powerful and versatile tool, applicable to a broad class of nonlinear systems, and is highly beneficial for addressing diverse control challenges across various engineering applications.
