Adaptive Control Based on General Regression Neural Networks (GRNN)

Data-driven controllers might be a good alternative to model-based controllers. In this chapter and the next chapter, neural data-driven controllers are thoroughly studied paying attention to their design, adaptation, and utilization in the control of nonlinear systems. NN controllers can be used in direct adaptive control, i.e., NN provides a direct control signal to the plant. GRNN-based adaptive controllers can be used to approximate the control signal to be sent to the plant.
