Community-based microfinance has shown increasingly significant development as it links the concepts of shared value creation and economic empowerment. This chapter examines the practices of Bank Infaq operating at the Grand Mosque in Bintaro Jaya (MRBJ), South Tangerang, Indonesia. This chapter combines empirical findings and conceptual analysis to highlight the potential of Bank Infaq MRBJ’s community-based microfinance approach. Through a mixed-methods research design combining qualitative interviews with key stakeholders and quantitative surveys of borrowers, the study reveals that an empowerment program based on shared goals, collaboration, and the design of contextual microfinance schemes can create shared value and significantly improve borrowers’ business performance. Beyond viewing microfinance as simply a lending mechanism, this program positions Bank Infaq MRBJ as an ecosystem for shared value creation, where the personal motivations, entrepreneurial drive, and social capital of stakeholders are integrated to generate sustainable economic impact. The research findings confirm that the key dimensions of empowerment and shared value creation have been internalized in the program’s implementation, as reflected in measurable impacts, including increased income, business expansion, expanded employment opportunities, and strengthened household assets. Thus, this study not only operationalizes the theoretical framework in practice but also provides insights for practitioners and policymakers seeking to strengthen microfinance programs to contribute more effectively to poverty alleviation.

摘要
