摘要

This research examines tourist perceptions of Nighscape at Bùi Viện Street, a prominent nightlife district in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. By analyzing reviews from TripAdvisor, the study explores the sensory experiences, social interactions, safety concerns, and cultural elements that shape tourists’ overall perceptions of the night tourism destination. The findings indicate that Bùi Viện’s energetic ambiance, dominated by neon lights, loud music, and dense crowds, generates mixed emotions among visitors, from excitement to sensory overload. While the area’s entertainment offerings, such as bars and clubs, are widely appreciated, concerns about pricing inconsistencies, safety issues like pickpocketing, and the exploitation of vulnerable populations emerge as significant drawbacks. The research contributes to the literature on night tourism by addressing the impact of UGC on destination image and by providing insights into how sensory elements, safety, and cultural dynamics shape the visitor experience. The study highlights the need for more balanced urban planning, cultural authenticity, and safety measures in nighttime tourism hotspots.
