Population Forecast, 2011–2041

This chapter forecasts population of 640 districts for the period 2011–2041. The forecast is based on modelling of population growth in each district during the period 1951–2011 presented in the previous chapter. The parameters of population growth model in the district constitute the basis for forecasting population with some adjustments. Summing the population forecasts of 640 districts reveals that the forecasted population of 640 districts in 2041 is a close approximation of the most likely population of India in 2041 projected by the United Nations.
