Planning for Human Resource and Their Capacity Building Under National Covid-19 Vaccination Program
摘要
This chapter explores the critical role of a skilled and well-trained health workforce in the successful implementation of India’s National Covid-19 Vaccination Program. The program, first of its kind, utilized a diverse range of personnel, including healthcare workers, program managers, and volunteers, ensuring the efficient delivery of vaccination services across the nation. Mixed training methods were adapted to the scale of the program, utilizing both in-person and virtual platforms due to the pandemic’s constraints, for disseminating knowledge to over a million health manpower personnel. The trainings covered a range of areas from vaccination procedures, adverse event management, and technology use to community engagement. In addition, India shared its experiences with 13 countries, fostering global cooperation. The success of the program underscores the importance of dynamic training approaches, inter-sectoral collaboration, and a well-prepared workforce in overcoming public health challenges, ensuring effective vaccination coverage and fostering international solidarity in combating the pandemic.
