Communication Plan for National Covid-19 Vaccination Program
摘要
This chapter delves into the communication strategy and planning for the Covid-19 vaccination drive for the country. The strategy aimed to provide timely, accurate information in a transparent manner. This approach aimed to dispel vaccine-related apprehensions, foster acceptance, and encourage widespread uptake. This chapter offers insights into use of traditional media and effectively leveraging new age digital platforms to address misinformation, public anxiety, vaccine eagerness, and vaccine hesitancy. In addition to discussing the innovative use of popular public programs like the Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat, this chapter outlines the collaborative communication efforts between the Ministry of Health and 22 other central ministries. It also sheds light on lessons learned in crisis communication through the establishment of a well-designed National Media Rapid Response Cell. This initiative played a critical role in combating the “infodemic” and addressing the spread of fake news during the pandemic.
