The relocation of ten million people for poverty alleviation within 5 years is an unprecedented and complex social project in modern history. The completion of relocation and settlement is only an initial goal, and the key to success is settle securely and prosper sustainably. After achieving comprehensive poverty alleviation in 2020, the support for poverty alleviation relocation population may decline, leading to issues such as moving back, falling back into poverty, which could undermine the effectiveness of the targeted poverty alleviation strategy. Moreover, considering the large number of relocated population, if their follow-up development is not addressed, it may exacerbate social conflicts and even trigger social unrest. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a follow-up support mechanism for poverty alleviation relocation to make steady progress in the long-term poverty alleviation. Based on the core requirements of poverty alleviation relocation, the mechanism for the long-term and stable poverty elimination should cover industrial development, employment, community integration, etc.
