What Does the Music Entrepreneur Work with? Music as a Means, an End, a Process, and a Product
摘要
While the previous chapter focused on the nature of entrepreneurial activities in the context of music, this chapter turns the question around and asks: What is music when it becomes the object of an entrepreneurial process? The chapter examines the value of music in entrepreneurial processes and introduces the MEP2 Model as a conceptual tool to assess this value. The model identifies four fundamental forms of music in entrepreneurship: a means, an end, a process, and a product. Understanding these forms enables entrepreneurs to target the value of music strategically. It is further explored how music’s unique characteristics as an experienceExperience product distinguish it from other goods. Using the MEP2 Model for navigating different forms of value creation in music entrepreneurship, the chapter highlights the relationship between music’s artistic and utilitarian dimensions.
