The Journey from Ideas to Opportunities: Between Disruption and Stability

  • Mads Walther-Hansen

摘要

This chapter outlines methodological approaches that enable the systematic and deliberate exploration and development of opportunities for value creation in the music world. The chapter further defines the music entrepreneur and distinguishes traditional management, which emphasizes planning and control, from entrepreneurial approaches that thrive on creativity and innovation. Drawing on Peter Drucker’s typology of sources for innovation, the chapter offers a conceptual framework for identifying opportunities, while theories such as effectuation and lean entrepreneurship provide practical strategies, such as the build-measure-learn feedback loop, for acting in unpredictable markets. Finally, it is argued that music entrepreneurs should learn to navigate established industry conventions to understand when to work within these frameworks and when to challenge them.
