Transitional Period of Animation Production (1966–1976)

On May 16, 1966, the Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China adopted the Notice of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, which had a profound impact on the political, social, and cultural spheres of the country. Animation production entered a period of adjustment. From 1966 to 1976, the previously fast-developing Chinese animation industry experienced a significant decline in output, and the overall development of the industry fell into a downturn.
