Cases of Insula-opercular Epilepsy
摘要
Due to the unique anatomical location of the insula, seizure originating from the insula-opercular region is still poorly understood, and it is difficult to localize epileptogenic zone during presurgical evaluations. With the application of intracranial recording, especially stereotactic electroencephalography (SEEG), and the accumulation of clinical experience, insula-opercular epilepsy has received increasing attention. From a surgical perspective, insular epilepsy is defined as seizure originating from insular identified by intracranial electrodes or the presence of an insular lesion.
