摘要

As the urgency for systemic change intensifies, more within the built environment industry are starting to engage with and understand the need for regenerative development. As a result, we are starting to see pioneering projects around the world emerge that are aligned with regenerative practices. While this has demonstrated the potential for the built environment to generate positive value, gaining meaningful and translatable insights from these projects requires understanding the underlying processes that have enabled them. This chapter responds to this gap by presenting a framework for delivering regenerative built environments. The framework draws upon a wealth of practical evidence from these pioneering projects and from insights from leading regenerative practitioners. It clarifies how regenerative built environments differ from conventional sustainability practices through five key principles and establishes fourteen key strategies and actions in alignment with these to support practitioners to deliver regenerative built environments. This framework is proposed as a tangible and accessible starting point to engage with and inspire regenerative practices throughout the built environment industry.
