摘要

While the evidence around mHealth (mobile health) is still emerging and varied, mHealth interventions are here to stay. In India, despite a conducive policy environment and rapid technological growth, that also focuses on making technology accessible and available to the poor, the full potential of mHealth interventions is yet to be realized. When used symbiotically, mHealth can strengthen health systems by supporting it and by addressing gaps. Optimal implementation and integration within health systems require evidence generation to leverage their strengths for maximum impact and benefits; while simultaneously addressing the weaknesses. The chapter focuses on mHealth for maternal and neonatal health in LMICs and India, building a case for its effective use to address health and health sector challenges.
