The Application of Vehicle-Mounted Drone—A Review

With the continuous development of drone technology, drones are gradually becoming an emerging element in various industries, offering a range of innovative solutions. Their application scenarios include real-time traffic monitoring, outdoor rescue and search operations, geographic surveying, aerial photography for entertainment and tourism, and live broadcasting of large events. Literature analysis reveals that these applications involve key technologies such as remote sensing and data transmission. Furthermore, drones are often transported to outdoor environments by users via vehicles, leading to the emergence of the concept of “vehicle-mounted drones.” The vehicle-mounted drone cabin provides a solution for carrying and conveniently using drones with the vehicle, integrating them into the vehicle for easy takeoff and recovery at any time. This paper analyzes the challenges faced by drones in practical applications, such as the convenience of carrying drones with the vehicle, the aerodynamic performance of the cabin, the installation design of the vehicle-mounted drone cabin, the operation of drone takeoff and landing, the transmission and storage of aerial data, and outdoor charging. The aim is to provide valuable references for the application research of vehicle-mounted drones.
