Poultry has been an important component of agriculture in recent years, and the most expensive aspect of raising poultry is the cost of feed. As a result, producers are looking for ways to reduce feed costs while avoiding the use of antibiotic growth promoters (banned in many countries including India). Some naturally available compounds, such as feed additives, herbal products, and bioactive agents, are used worldwide. These products are safe for the environment and human health and aid in improving bird characteristics such as weight, feeding efficiency, blood quality, and carcass quality in layers and broilers. Plant-derived saponins serve as bioactive feed additives in poultry and monogastric nutrition, offering a sustainable alternative to antibiotic growth promoters. They enhance membrane functionality, exert immunomodulatory effects, and contribute to lowering total cholesterol concentrations in both serum and muscle tissue. It has also demonstrated substantial changes in animal weight gain and feed efficiency.

摘要
