The goals of radiation protection in clinical practice are to minimize radiation exposure to patients, workers, and the public while ensuring effective use of diagnostic imaging and treatment techniques to maximize health outcomes of patients. Key elements of radiation safety management in medical radiation practice include radiation safety training and emergency preparedness, radiological procedures optimization and standardization, radiation monitoring and dose record keeping, and quality control and quality assurance as illustrated in Fig. 10.1.
