Comparison of Digital Terrain Models Based on Multi Rotor UAV Visible Light and LiDAR
摘要
We conducted aerial surveying and mapping of the Leadership Development and Training Center in Ethiopia’s Oromia Region using UAV equipped with visible light cameras and LiDAR. We compared the Digital Terrain Model (DTM) generated from visible light data acquisition and the DTM generated from LiDAR data acquisition at the same scale. The research results indicate that both DTM collected by visible light and DTM collected by LiDAR can meet engineering applications, but the accuracy of DTM generated by LiDAR is better than that generated by visible light. In aerial surveying and mapping engineering applications that require high elevation accuracy, using LiDAR for surveying can significantly achieve better results.
