The growing global investment in offshore wind energy and rapid deployment of wind turbine technology in deep-water hazardous environments have made in-service inspection of wind turbines and their associated infrastructure crucial for ensuring safe and efficient operation of wind farm units. In recent years, remote inspection of wind energy infrastructure using unmanned aerial vehicles has garnered widespread attention. UAVs possess tremendous potential to not only reduce personnel transfers and tower climbing operations but also decrease reliance on heavy lifting equipment required for hazardous inspection tasks. Path planning and image recognition capabilities are critical factors determining UAV inspection effectiveness, while current drone systems remain inadequate for meeting long-endurance inspection requirements. Therefore, the development of novel long-endurance UAVs holds significant importance for advancing this technology. This paper reviews existing inspection UAV types, path planning methodologies, and imaging technologies, discussing their respective advantages and challenges while providing perspectives on future development trends for offshore wind inspection drones.

摘要
