Environmental Approach for the Conservation of Cultural Values in Mbaru Niang of Waerebo Tribes
摘要
Indonesia's traditional houses exemplify harmony with nature, cultural identity, and environmental adaptability, offering comfort while preserving heritage. To investigate the relationship between cultural values and environmental strategies for the conservation of Mbaru Niang houses in the Waerebo Tribe, this study employs observations and simulations to evaluate how building component variations affect thermal and visual comfort. By exploring the interplay between tradition and sustainability, the research highlights the potential for preserving and developing traditional architecture within modern practices. The findings aim to guide the community in maintaining their housing while promoting culturally and environmentally significant designs rooted in passive principles.
