Event Reconstruction
摘要
The Cherenkov events are reconstructed from the PMT’s hit pattern, position, timing, and charge. The total amount of photons is about tens per MeV. In the Super-Kamiokande analyses, there are different reconstruction strategies for the high-energy and low-energy analyses, where the PMT charges are single photon equivalent or not. The low-energy analysis first reconstructs the vertex from mainly the hit timing and then corrects to the number of photons, which is proportional to the energy. The type of events is distinguished by the hit-pattern. This chapter explains the details of the reconstruction.
