The Core Value of China’s Participation in Global Education Governance

This chapter explores the core value of China’s participation in global education governance. Participation in global education governance is not only an important aspect of education opening to the outside world, but also an important way to enhance China’s international influence, competitiveness and voice. In the era of globalization, with the rise of global governance, educational governance, as an important part of global governance, has been put on the international agenda and received positive responses from multiple governance subjects. The world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century. In recent years, the economic situation has become more pessimistic due to the COVID-19 epidemic, and anti-globalization, unilateralism, conservatism and populism have risen in Western countries, which is in line with the trend of globalization. The process of globalization governance has been hindered, which is not conducive to the development of global education governance. However, China has always adhered to the global governance of multilateralism, actively contributed wisdom to the global governance of education and has become an important force in promoting global education governance.
