In this chapter, an outlook of today and future bioimplants is presented. First, the current state of the bioimplants and clinical applications as well as current limitations and ongoing challenges are shown. Second, a summary of the emerging trends in bioimplant technology such as biodegradable and bioresorbable implants, surface modification, 4D printing, and bioactive and osteoconductive scaffolds is described. Then, the relevance of digital integration and artificial intelligence in bioimplants is outlined. After, personalized and regenerative bioimplants, regulatory bottlenecks, and ethical considerations together with different case studies are studied. To finish, the future directions that might be followed by regenerative medicine in the near future are presented.

摘要
