With the continued development of high-resolution radar satellites for global environmental observation, a variety of spaceborne SAR missions including TerraSAR-X, COSMO-SkyMed and Sentinel-1 [1–4] have been deployed and are widely applied in remote sensing. Despite these notable achievements, present-generation SAR sensors still encounter two fundamental constraints.
