Insects exhibit a remarkable repertoire of innate behaviors—molting, feeding, mating, aggression, and migration—each governed by intricately coordinated neuroendocrine mechanisms. Neuropeptides and bioactive peptides are central to this regulation, which serve as integrative mediators between environmental cues and internal physiological states, enabling context-dependent behavioral modulation. These signaling systems establish a dynamic regulatory framework that aligns developmental processes, physiological demands, and ecological conditions, thereby facilitating behavioral plasticity and evolutionary resilience. This chapter highlights insect-specific behavioral phenomena through the aspects of neuropeptide-mediated regulation, offering insights into the molecular underpinnings of behavioral diversity and adaptability.
