Circular Economy in Practice: Comparative Insights from the Apparel and Coffee Shop Industries
摘要
This study examined how companies integrate the Circular Economy (CE) framework to promote sustainability by identifying best practices, challenges, and opportunities. Through a comparative analysis of two case studies: the research analyzed Lululemon, Alo Yoga, and MATE in the apparel industry (Case Study 1) and Starbucks, Dunkin’, and Nossa Familia Coffee in the coffee shop industry (Case Study 2), respectively. The apparel industry focuses on material circularity and garment life extension, while the coffee shop industry targets reducing single-use plastics and improving recycling. By analyzing garments and coffee cups, this study highlighted comparisons and strategies for minimizing environmental impact and advancing circularity. These findings provided challenges and actionable recommendations for businesses implementing sustainable solutions and contributing to the CE framework. Future research and investment in affordable, socially responsible, and sustainable technologies will be critical to developing CE approaches that are practical, impactful, and widely embraced, advancing environmental sustainability and social entrepreneurial objectives across industries.
