Evolution Mechanism and Process of Interface Products in Vacuum Rolled Titanium/Steel Clad Plates

摘要

The vacuum hot rolling process of titanium/steel clad plates is the key to determining their interfacial structure and mechanical properties. The vacuum hot rolling clad method ensures that the interface is in a high vacuum state, preventing the formation of harmful oxides and nitrides in the metal contact area. However, during the preparation of titanium/steel clad plates, brittle intermetallic compounds such as TiC and Ti-Fe intermetallic compounds inevitably form at the interface, affecting the mechanical properties of the clad plates. Controlling the type, morphology, and content of clad interface compounds to optimize the clad plates’ interface structure and mechanical properties is particularly important in the hot rolling clad preparation process. This chapter delves into the generation and evolution mechanism of interface compounds during the production of titanium/steel clad plates, the vacuum hot rolling clad plate fabrication process, and the analysis of interface bonding performance and introduces the industrial production route of vacuum hot rolling titanium/steel clad plates [1–4].
