In the field of politics, states based on the competition of two main parties are a conspicuous example of two-body systems. Nowadays, inspired by Great Britain and the United States, the two-party political system is often seen as the very embodiment of democracy. In our time (2024), it is widely implemented across many countries to the point that other systems are deemed to be either ineffective, particularly when there are too many parties, or nondemocratic when there are less than two parties. Nevertheless, there are also a few outliers, and in this chapter, we discuss them from a cliophysical perspective. By comparing them, we hope to get a better understanding of governance systems.

摘要
