摘要

Controlling the room’s climate by maintaining occupant comfort can reduce global warming and energy consumption. This paper presents a technique to maintain thermal comfort and lower power consumption using the Internet of Things (IoT). A predicted control system is proposed to control energy consumption by air conditioners (AC) while maintaining thermal comfort. The system utilizes weather APIs to collect outside conditions and IoT devices to monitor room temperature continuously. The system automatically adjusts air conditioning settings based on the outside temperature, forecast temperature, and room temperature. The system ensures a balance between maintaining a comfortable room climate and minimizing energy consumption. The developed algorithm has been tested in a real-world setting and found that energy consumption was reduced by 43.5% while managing the occupant’s thermal comfort. Central control unit and remote control unit are developed using IoT microcontrollers. Both controllers communicate using HTTP protocols. Research aims to achieve energy-efficient climate control in modern homes while ensuring thermal comfort and sustainability.
