Bio floc technology (BFT) is an innovative aquaculture system that uses microorganisms to create a self-sustained echo system, minimizing water replacement, and promoting nutrient recycling. Though it offers an efficient approach to sustainable aquaculture and minimizes environmental impact, it has challenges in maintaining appropriate water quality parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, and temperature. In this work, a closed loop control system is designed and built that automatically adjust water parameters in BFT based aquaculture system. The proposed system uses ESP32-S3 microcontroller and Blynk IoT application platform that enables real-time data collection, monitoring and control the water quality parameters. The DS18B20, pH-4502C, and SEN0237-A gravity sensors are used to collect temperature, pH, and DO values of water respectively. The system is designed for threshold values of 26 ± 1 °C temperature, 6 ± 0.25 mg/l DO, and 7.2 ± 0.4 pH. The water quality parameters values are expected to be maintained in these ranges, otherwise, signals will be sent to Blynk platform and automatically make relay ON to enable or disable the corresponding actuators. The results of software and hardware implementations of the proposed system proved its efficiency in maintaining water quality in BFT based aquaculture systems over the existing systems.

摘要
