Applications and Prospects of Aerial Gravity Measurement
摘要
Aerial gravity measurement has many applications in geodesy and geophysics. Although aerial measurement tasks may not be limited to a single target, the design of the measurement is mostly dependent on the application field targeted. Task design includes the observation quantity and its accuracy and resolution requirements, coverage of the survey area, flight route, and platform selection, etc. In the field of geodesy, one of the main applications of aerial gravity measurement is to determine the local geoid. The determination of the geoid using aerial gravity measurement data requires the downward continuation of aerial data to the horizontal plane and combination with other gravity data. Combined with the low-frequency information of high-precision satellite gravity models, the accuracy of the geoid determined by aerial gravity is 2 cm ~ 5 cm under a resolution of 5 km ~ 10 km. Another application of aerial gravity is to fill the gravity gap in special areas such as the polar regions to construct high-precision Earth gravity models, such as the EIGEN-GL04C model and the EGM2008 model, etc. In the field of geophysics, aerial gravity measurement is mainly used for regional geological research and resource exploration.
