In the final chapter of this book, we will first review the evolution of innovation models for local small and medium-sized companies at the micro-level through a case study of a LED company which exemplifies well the transformation from closed OEM model to open innovation platform model. The local environment in which it operates has also evolved from traditional industrial clusters to more complex innovation ecosystems. By the time of the innovation-driven development stage, Guangdong’s local innovation policies and business strategies have achieved a level of integration. Then, we will outline a roadmap guide for the new generation of regional innovation policies brought about by the emerging innovation trajectory in Guangdong. The new generation of regional innovation policies discussed in this chapter reflects the trend of integration of business strategy and innovation policy.
