摘要

This chapter summarises adjunctive and commonly used over-the-counter agents that may support emotional and behavioural wellbeing in neurodivergent children. Medicinal cannabis is reviewed with focus on purified cannabidiol (CBD) without THC; current data suggests short-term safety but mixed efficacy, limited long-term evidence, and significant practical barriers including product variability and regulated access, so its use remains cautious and typically last-line. Melatonin is discussed as a widely used paediatric sleep-onset aid despite variable regulation and non-standardised products; it has broader biological effects and uncertain long-term outcomes, therefore should be used judiciously, alongside sleep-hygiene strategies, and with attention to additive sedation in polypharmacy. The chapter highlights iron deficiency as a frequent, under-recognised contributor to irritability, fatigue, and attentional problems in restrictive eaters, warranting routine screening and targeted supplementation. Omega-3 fatty acids are presented as supportive therapy with potential modest benefit for ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) symptoms in the context of modern dietary imbalance.
