Next-Gen Banking: Contactless ATM System Using Hand Gestures and Face Recognition

The rapid advancement of technology in the banking industry has opened doors for new innovations characterized by security, hygiene at the cost of user experience. This paper describes the concept and design of a touchless ATM system based on virtual hand gestures coupled with facial recognition technology. The system accurately detects and interprets user movements in real-time using the integration of machine learning algorithms and depth-sensing cameras. These motions correspond to typical ATM operations like entering a PIN, withdrawing cash, checking balances, and confirming transactions. This research bridges the gap between FinTech and user-centered design, advancing the field of HCI. It provides a foundation for further innovation in touchless interface technologies for banking and other industrial domains.
